Awards & Accreditations: The Leapfrog Group® - Hospital Safety Score
Englewood Hospital has received a Hospital Safety Score of “A”, the highest grade possible, based on a report by The Leapfrog Group for upholding stringent standards in the critical areas of safety, quality and efficiency.
The Leapfrog Group’s survey of more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals revealed that Englewood Hospital received perfect scores in all eight areas of the Safe Practices category, which focuses on the protocols a hospital implements in order to prevent patient harm. The Medical Center outscored hospitals in a number of other measures involving care patients receive before, during and after treatments.
The Leapfrog Group calculated the Hospital Safety Score under the guidance of its Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, a nine-member team of patient safety experts from around the county. Hospitals received an A, B, or C based on the careful review and analysis of publicly available safety data.
Note: The grades used in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score Program are derived from expert analysis of publicly available data using national evidence-based measures of patient safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score Program grades hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
