Pastoral Care

The Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Pastoral Care department is an integral part of our healthcare program. An ordained minister — clinically trained as a counselor for patients and their families — is available at all times. At your request, he will arrange for you to see a priest, minister or rabbi.

To speak to our chaplain, arrange for a visit or request a visit from a clergyman of your own choosing, call ext. 3228 during the day; during evenings and weekends, your nurse can call the chaplain for you. The Roman Catholic priest may be reached at ext. 3215 or by contacting the page operator, ext. 3311.

An interfaith chapel is available daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for private prayer and meditation. Some weekend and special holiday services are broadcast on channel 6 (closed circuit) and on channel 9 (commercial). A flier placed on Friday’s breakfast trays will provide information on each weekend’s service.
